World Theater Day was observed by the Department of Mizo, Govt Hnahthial College on 27th March 2023 at 1:15 pm in the college auditorium. The function was attended by Core students of Mizo department and second semester Mizo elective students. Vanlalrova Varte, Assistant Professor, Department of Mizo chaired the function. After the chair’s speech, C.Lalremtluangi II Semester student performed a beautiful song. Ms. Lalzarzovi, Assistant Professor, Department of Mizo gave a presentation on “Greek Theatre leh Lemchan Pawimawhna”. She highlights the Greek origins of the play, the role of tragedy and comedy in theatre, and the characteristics of Greek theatre. She said that drama is an important mirror of human life and tragedy drama can give us determination, courage and the ability to face difficulties. She also said that comedy plays are important as they showcase human characteristics and society’s events that need to be improved in a funny and meaningful way. She also urged the students to take steps to develop theatre.

After the presentation, R. Lalngaihawma, Assistant Professor, Department of Mizo was invited to deliver a vote of thanks. He thanked the Principal, Govt Hnahthial College, Mizo department faculties and the students for their participation.
